  • Abstract:

The elements of a free group are naturally considered to be reduced "words" in an certain alphabet. In this context, a palindrome is a group element which reads the same from left-to-right and right-to-left. Certain primitive elements, elements that can be part of a basis for the free group, are palindromes. We discuss these elements, and related automorphisms.
