  • Abstract:

    In this talk we consider two-phase flow models in porous media as they occur in several applications like oil production, pollute transport or CO2-storage. After a general introduction, we focus on an enhanced model where the capillary pressure is rate-dependent. We discuss the consequences of this term for heterogeneous materials with and without entry pressure. In the case of entry pressures the problem can be reformulation as inequality constraint at the material interface. Suitable discretization schemes and solution algorithms are proposed and used in various numerical simulations.
